Authoring Questions

How do I delete questions from an assessment that has results?

Since the assessment already has results, it’s likely that some or all of the respondents have already answered the question you wish to delete.  Because of this, Testcraft has hidden the delete button from the assessment authoring interface.  This is to ensure integrity of the results already in existence.  So, you can’t delete a question completely without deleting all results first, but you can remove the question from the assessment by placing it in the “Unassigned Questions” group.  Simply edit the question and change the group dropdown list to “UNASSIGNED QUESTIONS”.  This will prevent the question from being selected for any future respondent.

How do I add questions to an assessment that already has results?

For the same reason Testcraft doesn’t allow you to delete questions when results exist (assessment integrity), the software also doesn’t allow you to add questions.  If you are authoring a new assessment and you anticipate needing to add new questions throughout the lifetime of the assessment, we recommend you add several placeholder questions in the “Unassigned Questions” group to be held for later use.  Then, when you need them, you may edit one of the placeholder questions and change it’s question group setting to make it live.

Can I mix test type and survey type questions on an assessment?

Absolutely.  This is actually very common and is fully supported by the Testcraft software.  It is mainly used for classroom environments where you would like to deliver an exam after a course and then ask several survey questions about the instructor’s performance, the materials, and the course in general.
